Welcome, New Board Members
We sat down with Duncan Kelm, Becky Parker and Alan Seidenfeld to discuss bringing their
commitment to community health to the Foundation board, and here’s what they had to say.
Duncan Kelm
Why are you supporting Memorial Hospital? What motivates your philanthropy?
I was born at Santa Rosa Memorial. I know many individuals who
work for Providence. I understand the importance of the hospital to
this community. I also understand the statistics of how many people Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital serves. One of those individuals was a close friend’s spouse, whose life was saved because of the hospital’s capabilities. Ensuring that our community remains supported and in capable hands is why Santa Rosa Memorial is important to me.
Becky Parker
Why did you agree to join the Foundation board?
There is nothing more important than one’s health. The more I have gotten to know the team behind Memorial, the more I wanted to be a part of the board. I appreciate everyone I have met to date, and I have seen their high level of dedication to Memorial and their board, but most importantly to their staff and patients.
Alan Seidenfeld
What motivates your desire to give back?
I think about it as paying it forward. My family has been very fortunate. I had a long happy marriage to my late wife, Susan, and we have two healthy sons and eight healthy grandkids. We have been very successful, so giving back is the right thing to do.
