We are impacting lives in Orange County everyday with the generous support of donors.

Welcome, John Contreras
We are thrilled to announce John Contreras has joined Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Foundation as our new philanthropy officer. John officially began his role on February 10, 2025.
John brings 30 years of experience serving and supporting the nonprofit community of Sonoma County and beyond. His extensive background in donor engagement, public speaking and stakeholder relationship cultivation will be invaluable to our foundation’s mission.
Most recently, John served as a philanthropy officer at Providence Hospice Foundation, where he supported Light Up a Life and developed close partnerships with donors, caregivers and physicians. Previously, John worked for Social Advocates for Youth (SAY) in Santa Rosa, where his success in donor engagement and relationship building enabled him to support the organization through a difficult transition.
Prior to SAY, John served for 28 years at Cardinal Newman High School as director of service learning, where he developed and maintained partnerships with numerous nonprofit agencies and community stakeholders. His innovative leadership in establishing a community-based service-learning program earned him Teacher of the Year honors twice and a nomination for Educator of the Year from the city of Santa Rosa.
Please join us in welcoming John to the Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Foundation team as we continue our vital work supporting the community of Sonoma County.
