Caring Together
Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital launches major expansion to transform North Bay health care
As Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital celebrates 75 years of serving the North Bay, it’s embarking on an ambitious expansion — the Caring Together Initiative, designed to transform health care delivery for over 100,000 patients annually. The total estimated cost is $45-50 million, which includes a goal of $25 million from community philanthropy.
The initiative focuses on completing the Hansel Family Care Center at 1162 Montgomery Drive, a strategic building developed in 2020 with remarkable foresight. While the second and third floors already house thriving primary and specialty care clinics, the first and fourth floors were deliberately left partially developed, awaiting the right moment to fulfill their potential. That moment has arrived. The initiative centers around three core elements: an imaging center, a cardiac center and a women’s center.
Where Advanced Imaging Meets Patient-Centered Care
Imaging is at the heart of nearly every diagnosis, from heart, cancer and orthopedics to neuroscience and gastrointestinal care. We’re building a new 16,000-square- foot imaging center that will provide patients with the best imaging quality in Northern California, in an efficient and welcoming environment that prioritizes dignity and privacy.
Located on the first floor of the Hansel Family Care Center, our new imaging center will offer the latest imaging technology to support earlier and more accurate diagnoses and new treatment options, including:
- MRI Suite: 3T MRI scanner with wider bore to improve patient experience and provide better images in less time
- CT and PET CT Suite: Increased sensitivity for tumor detection and faster scan time
- Nuclear Medicine: Latest high-resolution imaging
- Digital Radiology and Fluoroscopy Room:
State-of-the-art for low-risk procedures - The Marilyn Hess Hansel Breast Imaging Suite: Best technology currently available for detection and patient comfort and privacy
Streamlining Cardiac Care
Located on the fourth floor, the new Dr. John B. Reed Center for Cardiac Care will integrate and expand our team of expert cardiologists, easing the way for patients seeking the best heart care in Northern California. Led by Pamela Maur, M.D., medical director for cardiology, the new center will build on our strong existing heart program, allowing us to expand to a total of 21 cardiologists plus support staff, thanks to additional exam rooms, workspaces and co-located testing and treatment spaces.
The center will feature one shared reception area for all cardiologists, simplifying the patient check-in experience, as well as easier access to imaging and diagnostics thanks to the new state-of-the-art imaging center located on the first floor.
Whole-Person Care for Every Stage of a Woman’s Life
Providence Santa Rosa is already home to some of the region’s most trusted women’s health services, including the North Bay’s only fellowship-trained breast surgeon, the latest mammography technology, Northern California’s most recognized osteoporosis program, genetic testing and a robust cancer survivorship program.
Located in the Henry Trione Medical Arts Plaza at 500 Doyle Park Drive in Santa Rosa, the new Women’s Health Center will integrate outstanding existing programs with expanded offerings, giving women a single destination for their unique health needs.
Envisioned by Lisa Tito, M.D., breast specialist, and Amy Shaw, M.D., women’s health specialist, the Women’s Health Center will build on our strong existing programs for OB-GYN, breast health, osteoporosis, genetic counseling, cancer survivorship and mental
health support. It will add critically needed new services such as women-specific primary care, perimenopause and menopause support, gynecologic surgery and pelvic floor therapy.
The Caring Together Initiative represents more than expansion; it’s about supporting community health for generations to come.
