The 2024 Physician Champion honoree 

Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Foundation is honored to award Monica Ferguson, M.D., the 2024 Philanthropy Physician Champion Award.

Dr. Ferguson has devoted nearly three decades to serving the community’s health needs. As the Regional Medical Director for Health Equity in Northern California, she focused on reducing disparities in breast cancer screening and hypertension. Her commitment extends to the system’s Health Equity Fellowship Program, where she has served as an advisor.

Thanks to the team’s tireless efforts, Providence South Division achieved outstanding ratings on our systemwide health equity measure for 2024, which was hypertension control in the BIPOC population — a remarkable accomplishment that would not have been possible without her invaluable support. This achievement underscores Dr. Ferguson’s crucial role in advancing health equity across diverse communities.
