Over the past 75 years, Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital has evolved into the most advanced medical center in the area. In 2020, Providence developed a new medical building at 1162 Montgomery Drive, across from Memorial Hospital. The second and third floors became primary and specialty care clinics, and the first and fourth floors were partially developed in anticipation of future growth.

Honoring Norma Person's Gift

Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Foundation is proud to announce a $5 million gift from Norma Person to establish the Dr. John B. Reed Center for Cardiac Care within the Hansel Family Care Center. The state-of-the-art facility will serve as a cardiovascular hub for Northern California, revolutionizing heart care access and innovation across the region.

The Center honors John B. Reed, M.D., Sonoma County’s first cardiologist, who has dedicated more than five decades to extending and saving lives throughout the community

“Norma and Evert’s extraordinary giving exemplifies the spirit of community that makes the mission of Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital possible.”

Honoring the Hansel Legacy

Led by a historic $10 million gift from Henry and Marilyn Hansel, Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Foundation has launched a $20 million philanthropic initiative to fully develop the Hansel Family Care Center and the Women’s Health Center. We are currently seeking philanthropic partners for the initiative. Attractive naming and recognition opportunities are available starting at $50,000.

“We’re honored to give back to all who make Memorial such a caring, healing place.

What better way to thank all the customers who have supported our family business, Hansel Auto, than to give back to this

beloved community institution that heals and saves people from every walk of life, all day, every day.”

– Marilyn and Henry Hansel

The Caring Together Initiative

As demand for complex health care increases, now is the time to invest in a visionary plan to close the gap:
the Caring Together Initiative, led by a transformative gift from the Hansel family to create the Hansel Family Care Center.
This effort centers around three core projects.

Imaging Center

On the first floor of the Hansel Family Care Center, a new imaging center will provide access to the latest imaging technology in a welcoming environment. Patients will benefit from lower wait times, earlier-stage diagnoses, and more targeted interventions. The center will include the Marilyn Hess Hansel Breast Imaging Suite, given in honor of fellowship-trained Breast Surgeon Lisa Tito, M.D.

Advanced imaging is foundational to nearly every diagnosis we make.

Updated equipment and expanded capacity will double or triple our throughput.

Cardiac Care Center

On the fourth floor, a new cardiology center will house the expert physicians of Providence’s Evert and Norma Person Heart and Vascular Institute.  This will be a “one-stop-shop” experience for patients seeking advanced cardiology services, and an urgently needed expansion given the region’s aging population.

Heart disease remains the second leading cause of death in Sonoma County.

1 in 2 people will need a cardiologist in their lifetime.

Women's Health Center

The nearby Henry Trione Medical Arts Plaza will house our award-winning breast program, unique cancer support services, and a new women’s health program that offers women-specific primary care, menopause support, osteoporosis care, gynecological surgery, pelvic floor therapy, weight support, and more.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Sonoma County.

Investment in women’s health services reduces health disparities.
